This collection comprises the photographs, school material, and ephemera of Sarah "Sallie" Moore Field, Abbot Academy class of 1904. The majority of the collection is course notebooks and other school-related papers. Field was actively involved in supporting both Abbot Academy and Phillips Academy, long after she graduated. In addition to making annual financial contributions to the schools, she also often attended events at both schools.
Sarah Field's love for knowledge lead her to pursue many different intellectual fields, but her love for history and for her house in North Andover lead her to curate her own family's history, hoping to someday turn that home into a museum. Sarah Field lived to age 103. Although her family home never became a museum, much of the estate was donated to various institutions in Andover and North Andover, Massachusetts. This collection is exclusively related to Sarah Field's time at Abbot Academy and her participation as an enthusiastic and active alumna.

The Sphinx was a society created by Abbot Academy students to improve in "argument, elocution, composition and parlimentary law." Members were requried to pay dues and many contunued to pay even after graduation. This notebook is primarily the articles of the constitution and members of the society. Brown and red notebook with broken spine. Front cover detatched, back cover barely still connected to spine. Written in mostly black ink; notebook is partially filled.
